Filiep Tacq (b. 1959 / Belgium. Lives in Ghent), graphic designer.
In 1990 he established the 'Leopold & Zonen' firm, concentrating on the design of art books and exhibition catalogues, including publications on Jan Vercruysse, Dirk Braeckman, Maarten Van Severen, Raoul De Keyser and Marthe Wéry. For the Brussels publisher Yves Gevaert he designed 'artist's books' by, among others, Rodney Graham, Harald Klingelhöller, James Coleman and Chris Marker. In 1994 was awarded the Plantin-Moretus Prize for his design of the book 'Het Sublieme Gemis'. He gained an international reputation when he won the Design Award, Best art-catalogue 1994 (for the book 'Rodney Graham') and the American Graphic Design Award 2000 (for the book 'Juan Muñoz'). His clients include the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Wiener Secession, Manifesta 2 in Rotterdam, Roomade of Brussels, the Marian Goodman Gallery in New York, Fundacion Tapiès in Barcelona, the Guggenheim Museum and the Dia Center for the Arts in New York. Since 2000 Filiep Tacq has worked as a freelance designer under his own name.
