Philippe Rahm (CH, born 1967) studied architecture at the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne. Until 2004 he was associated with Jean-Gilles Décosterd under the name Décosterd & Rahm. The bureau became internationally renowned through the experimental, atmospheric, climatological and psychedelic rooms which they constructed using placebo colours, energy fields and light sources. In 2002, they built the much-discussed L'Hormonorium for the Swiss Pavilion at the architecture biennale in Venice. Their work has also been exhibited in solo exhibitions at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montréal (2007), Centre Culturel Suisse, Paris (2005) and CCA Kitakyushu (2004). They have participated in group exhibitions in Archilab, Orléans (2000), MoMA, San Francisco (2001), the biennales of Tirana (2001), Valencia (2003) and Lisbon (2003), the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2005) and the Centre Pompidou, Paris (2006). Philippe Rahm was also Head Master of Diploma Unit 13 at the AA School in London (2006) and guest lecturer at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris (2003), the Accademia di architettura di Mendrisio (2005) and ETH Lausanne (2006). This year he took part in Aaron Betsky's biennale exhibition 'Out There' in Venice.
