A blank page like a tautly stretched expectation. A stroke with the indelible power of a line. A line from here to there & much further still. Burnt coal, an etching, gas discharge lamps, energy. A story unfolding about a man. Or a woman. Or something of both.
Chimera is a graphic novel by artist Lorenzo Mattotti that inspired the Stap performers to create their own live-drawn story. For the BIG BANG Festival, they are taking this story a step further and are already working towards their next production, VOS8. The starting point for this is the eponymous short story, full of black humour, by the brilliant George Saunders – a fable about the all-too-real impact we have on the environment.
