Buy your passHave you ever seen an instrument that creates mist?
ELOI is a transparent, two-metre-long contraption, full of tubes, valves and little flutes. You can see right through it. Yet you don’t quite understand how it works. And that’s exactly the point.
Two musicians, Bert De Rycke & Esther-Elisabeth Rispens, play it: with their hands, their breath, their whole bodies. The sounds you hear are sometimes familiar, sometimes as if from another planet. They swirl through the space, change shape, disappear and reappear.
Look closely. Listen carefully. And ask yourself: where does the instrument end, and where does the music begin?
